Strategy
Iron Frontier
★★★★☆ 4.2
Iron Frontier drops you on a contested map and asks you to build, defend, and slowly expand. What I liked is that rushing rarely works — you have to read the terrain and plan supply lines. It rewards the slow, thoughtful player.
The interface handles a lot of information gracefully for a phone. Pinch to zoom, tap to queue units, and a tidy log tells you what happened while you were away. Matches against the AI scale in difficulty and stay tense.
It can get demanding in longer sessions, and the battery drains faster than most games here. Still, for a proper strategy fix on mobile, Iron Frontier is one of the better ones I've played this year.
What we liked
- Thoughtful, patient gameplay
- Clear interface for complex maps
- Scaling AI that stays challenging
